Products to pack in your emergency wedding bag

I have been a part of a lot of beautiful brides’ wedding days, including my own, and there are always little random things you and your bridal party often need that typically aren’t in easy reach. I recommend packing the following items into a small emergency wedding back that one of your bridesmaids carries with them in case of an emergency. Trust me - you’ll thank me later!

Mini Sewing Kit

There is always a lot of close interaction with family and friends on your wedding day, people hugging, kissing and moving you around for photos, food and other important moments! All this movement and activity can sometimes result in damage to dresses, suits and accessories. Packing a mini sewing kit will allow you to amend any little tears, button pops or loose straps.

Baby Wipes

There are a LOT of things baby wipes can help with, even if it is just to help to refresh yourself between photos and your reception. They will come in handy when you need to wipe your hands in the middle of a random field getting photos, or when an out-of-control groomsman spills his beer on a bridesmaid!

Baby or Olive Oil

Yeah, this is a bit of a weird one. An oil-based product is handy for removing marks on dresses and shoes, unwanted kiss marks on cheeks that won’t come off, or even for very dry skin in winter. Trust me, it will come in handy. I recommend finding oil in the smallest packaging possible, or pouring some into a travel size container.

Straws

Drinking with straws will help increase the longevity of your lipstick, keeping your lips lush with colour instead of needing to be touched up every time you take a sip. Grab yourself some fancy reusable silver straws to drink your cocktails in style, or what the hec - some neon crazy straws will also do the trick if that’s your vibe!

Scissors

On my wedding day, I forgot about a tag on my dress and we had to cut it off using a large butcher's knife! Pack a small pair of scissors or a swiss army knife just incase you have loose threads, tags or even a nail breakage you need to deal with.

Finally, the basics.

There are SO many other items you could pack in your emergency wedding bag, so just spend some time thinking of what might be helpful to have in arm’s reach at any point throughout the day. Don’t forget basics like bandaids and paracetamol, and assign a bridesmaid to pack all of these things for you so you don’t have to worry about them!
